STOP the SALE and DESTRUCTION of ASHFIELD POLISH CLUB!
Join many Poles who OPPOSE the SALE of this unique and invaluable community asset and SIGN this petition.
STOP the few directors, who led to the club’s financial collapse, from selling the club and deciding over the fate of this community asset which belongs to tens of thousands of Australian Poles.
The club’s board wants to rush a vote through to SELL and redevelop the property at the AGM on Sunday 1st December 2019.
Built over 50 years ago with the private donations of post IIWW Polish migrants, the Ashfield Polish Club has proudly served many generations of Polish Australians and for decades was an integral part of the diverse and multicultural Australia. This cultural and historic icon, now worth in excess of 30 million dollars, is an easy prey for cunning directors and greedy developers.
The current board of directors and its president Richard Borysiewicz, led to an extensive financial deterioration of the club. Under their rule over the last 5 years, the club’s reported debt escalated from $460,000 to an unprecedented $4.65Million with suspiciously rising record high annual losses. In order to remain in power and on course to sell the property the board: rejected, expelled and black-listed members who oppose the sale.

The signatories of this petition demand that prior to AGM on 1st December 2019 an independent administrator will be appointed to review the Club’s current financial situation and operations. Then, implement and appoint a new Board & Management to find a long-term equity/funding options and make changes to enable the Club operations to become financially viable and survive into the future.
SIGN this petition to STOP the irreversible destruction of ASHFIELD POLISH CLUB – our cultural icon, the symbol of our identity and the footprint of our Polish ancestors on Australian soil!
